At Aerial Paragliding our teaching philosophy is
based on safety and a comfortable progression throughout your training. Our
proven, structured training program is designed to give you the skills and
knowledge you need to comfortably and confidently fly on your own without
instructor supervision. We offer a full range of courses from our two-day
Introductory Course to a Novice Certification
Course and Advanced Clinics on maneuvers, thermalling and cross-country
flying. Class sizes are kept small, usually no more than two new students
per instructor. Instruction is radio-supervised, however we look at them as a helpful tool and not a necessity.
From the very start of your training, you will learn to manage
not just your launching, flying and landing, but also ground handling, flight concepts
and an understanding of micro-meteorology.
Upon entry into our training program you will receive classroom materials
including books, videos and a log book. All equipment is supplied for the
Introductory and Novice training programs. For information on how a training
day will unfold, please check out What to Expect.
By completing a Novice course and purchasing a set of new or used gear from
Aerial, you will be able to return to our flight park to
improve your skills at little or no additional cost. We want you to feel welcome
to come back for refresher training, there's always something new to learn! This additional instruction will
help you progress to higher level certifications.
2-Day Introductory Course
Weekdays $350 Weekend $425
This course is designed as an introduction to the sport of Paragliding. During
this course you will be introduced to the equipment, basic ground school,
and take your first flights. The goal of this course is to get your feet off
the ground and give you the ability to make an educated decision as to whether
or not the sport of paragliding is for you. It is also possible to qualify
for a P1 rating with the completion of the Intro course. If you decide to
continue with your training, the introductory course fee will be applied towards
the P2 course fee. All equipment is supplied for this course.
Novice Certification Course(P2)
$1500 ($500 credit towards gear)
The P2 Certification Course is what you need in order to become a United
States Hang Gliding Association (USHGA) Certified Pilot. This course will
take you through all the required ground school and in-flight training you
need to fly on your own without instructor supervision. The training process
will start out the same as the 2 day Intro Course, then continue on to develop
your skills and knowledge. This course will include comprehensive ground school
on paragliding flight, weather, reserve parachutes, equipment, risk management
and other related topics. With the course you will receive a reference book
and videos, study manual, and the use of paragliding equipment needed during
your training. With the completion of the P2 course and the purchase of a
set of gear, you can continue joining training classes to refresh or perfect
your skills, at no additional cost.
